HISTORY OF THE CAR SHOW
1991
Some Moab car enthusiasts decided to start a weekly “hang out” at a local restaurant, to show off their cars. At some point, that group decided to start a car club and perhaps organize and put on their own car show for the public. They called themselves “Moab Rod Benders”.
1992
The club put on its very first car show. It was an incredible success with over 200 cars attending. The show grew yearly until they had slightly over 700 vehicles participating.
The Moab April Action Car Show (as it is now known) has had perfect weather for 20 of the last 25 years. It is one of the most popular events in Moab, attracting up to 8,000 spectators (free admission) and close to 500 entries.
2012
The Moab Rotary Club proudly assumed the show and is expanding it to become a practical service project to help support their partnership with the Moab Free Health Clinic. Moab Rotary Club also supports scores of other worthwhile endeavors throughout the Moab community.
